Description

The south boundary wall to the grounds of Bowes Museum and the Church of St Mary in Barnard Castle dates from around 1869. This wall is constructed of rubble with rock-faced coping and stands approximately 1 meter high. It runs from the west lodge to the south-west corner of the museum grounds and continues in front of the church. The projecting coping features a low wide chamfer.
