Description

The Peart tomb, located about 4 metres south of the Church of St. John, is a Grade II listed headstone dating from around 1839. It commemorates Isaac Peart, who was the postmaster of St. John's Chapel for many years and died at the age of 75. The tomb is made of sandstone and features a Tudor-arched-pointed top. The inscription honors Isaac Peart Esq. of North Shields.
