Description
High Waterhouse Farmhouse and the attached outbuilding are a farmhouse and outbuilding dating from the mid-18th century, which were restored around 1980. The structure is built from coursed sandstone rubble, featuring renewed pantiled roofs and rebuilt brick chimneys. The two-storey, symmetrical, three-bay farmhouse has roughly-shaped quoins and a central, replaced six-panel door set in a flush stone surround. The replaced windows have concrete lintels and some original stone sills, with paired 12-pane sashes to the left of the door and 16-pane sashes elsewhere. The steeply-pitched roof has raised verges with reversed, crowstepped gables and end chimneys. To the left, there is a one-storey former byre that has late 20th-century paired casements and a hipped roof. The farmhouse also features a one-storey rear outshut with replaced windows.
