Description
West End Farm barn and the attached range of byres are located 20 meters north of Dotheboys Hall. This structure dates from the early to mid-19th century and is built from squared rubble with stone-flagged roofs.
The barn is a tall, two-storey building with five bays, featuring a low plinth and flush quoins. It has a Dutch door with a flush surround in the second bay, flanked by replaced top-hung casements. There is a blocked door and window to the right, and five first-floor breathers. The roof is low-pitched and hipped.
The lower two-storey range of byres and loose boxes has five bays and includes lofts. It features a central blocked doorway with a round head, a Dutch door, and a replaced casement to the right, as well as a partly-blocked doorway with an inserted boarded door to the left. Above, there are three square boarded openings, and the roof is low-pitched and hipped on the left.
There is a lean-to addition to the right of the barn, but it is not of special interest. This building is included for its group value with Dotheboys Hall.
