Description
Nos. 10 and 11 The Village is a pair of houses located in Brancepeth, dating from the early to mid-18th century, with 19th-century window features. The buildings are constructed of pebble-dashed rubble and have an old pantiled roof with a rebuilt brick chimney stack. They are two storeys high, each with two bays, and No. 10 is situated on the right. There is a continuous plinth, and each house has end doorways with replaced doors beneath rendered wedge lintels. To the left of No. 11, there is an arched boot-scraper recess. The houses feature 16-pane sash windows, some of which have been replaced. The openings have wedge lintels and projecting sills, with some sills renewed in concrete. The first-floor windows are positioned directly under the eaves, and there is a blank bay above the door of No. 11. The roof is continuous, steeply pitched with swept eaves and a tall central ridge stack. There are 20th-century rear additions that are not of interest. Nos. 1 to 12 form a continuous row of houses.
