Description
The Westernhope Old lead mine dressing floor is located on the south bank of the West Grain and dates from the 18th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble using dry construction techniques, featuring a pavement made of large flags. There is a low wall approximately 10 metres long, with a 2-metre-wide pavement alongside it. Historically, the Westernhope lead mines were operated by the Blackett family from the early 18th century until 1861.
