Description
The former Ebenezer Chapel, dated 1822, is located on Hall Lane in West Rainton. Its current use is not known. The building is constructed of coursed squared sandstone, with the right return and rear made of rubble, and features ashlar dressings. It has a Welsh slate roof with stone gable copings and a brick chimney. The chapel is a single storey with five bays. On the front, there is a 2-centred-arched door on the left, which is framed by voussoirs and has a projecting key. The front wall also includes four lancet windows, each with voussoirs and projecting stone sills. A small chimney is located at the left end. The left return features two small windows near the corners and one gallery window with pointed heads. The rear elevation has four small windows of a similar shape. All windows are currently boarded up. The interior has not been inspected.
