Description
32 Silver Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 17th century, with a top floor added in the 18th century. The building features a timber frame with brick nogging, while the top floor is made of brick. It has a Welsh slate roof with a brick chimney and stands four storeys high with one bay.
The ground floor has an inserted shop front with panelled pilasters that support a fascia. The first floor features a renewed Ipswich-type oriel window, while the jettied second floor has an oriel window on a central bracket, showcasing close studding with diagonal bracing at the corners. The top floor includes one late 19th-century sash window. The left side of the building displays massive corner bracing on the second floor, and many of the timbers have carpenter's marks.
