Description
The bridge over the River Wear, located in Stanhope West Blackdene, is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings. The bridge features two wide segmental recessed arches, which are accompanied by narrow drip strings. It has flank cut waters with low rounded coping. The parapets are topped with round coping.
