Description
Candle House at Newhouse is a candle storage building for the Beaumount lead mines, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and quoins, and features a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and consists of one bay. It has wide flat stone lintels and slightly projecting stone sills on the windows, some of which have glazing bows. The roof is low-pitched and hipped. At the time of the survey, the building was empty and in a derelict condition.
