Description
The building is a former stable with a loft, now functioning as a barn, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble and has a pantiled roof. The barn is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It features squared quoins and a central boarded door set in a flush surround, with wide blocks beneath the lintel. Above this door is a boarded loading door, and there are window openings on the outer bays, which have narrow, flush sills and lintels. The roof is steeply pitched, with raised verges and reverse-stepped gables. Although it pertains to East Farm, it is included for its group value with The Hermitage.
