Description
The garden wall and gates located west of Biddick Hall date from the mid to late 18th century. The wall is constructed of hand-made brick and features wrought-iron gates. It is a tall structure that extends approximately 85 metres west from Biddick Hall, with regularly spaced flat buttresses. The wall is primarily built in English garden wall bond and is topped with moulded stone coping and a ball finial at the western end. There is a rebuilt round-arched doorway located east of the centre, which includes a round-headed gate with closely set bars and rails, adorned with delicate scrollwork around the margins and centre. At the western end of the wall, there is a similar square-headed gate with side panels. This structure is included for its group value.
