Description
This is an outbuilding located approximately 4 metres north of New Broomielaw House, likely built around 1810. It is constructed from thin courses of squared sandstone, featuring quoins and ashlar dressings. The roof is stone-flagged with stone gable copings, while the rear outshut has a corrugated asbestos roof. The building is two storeys high and has two bays.
The elevation facing New Broomielaw House includes a boarded door on the right set in a pecked stone surround, with a flat stone lintel and a projecting stone sill above a two-light ground floor window that has glazing bars and a plain light, which likely replaced a pitching hole. The left return features a similar lintel and sill above a small square blocked opening in a pent outshut. The right return has side stone steps leading up to a boarded loft door. This outbuilding is included for its group value with New Broomielaw House.
