Description
No. 78 Saddler Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 17th century and features a 20th-century shop front. The building is constructed of English garden wall bond brick, with painted ashlar dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. It stands four storeys high and has two bays. The ground floor has been altered, but there is a six-panelled passage door on the right side, which is situated under a blocked overlight. Most of the windows are late 19th-century sashes, and they have flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills. The building also features floor-level and parapet bands, along with a high stone-coped parapet. Notably, there is a round moulded rainwater head with lugged fastening fixings for the pipe located at the left side of the third floor.
