Description
Lilac Cottage is a mid-19th century cottage with a later addition to the rear. It is constructed from tooled-and-dressed sandstone and features a Welsh slate roof with ashlar stacks. The building has a square plan and is a single storey with two narrower bays on each side. It has a low plinth and clasping Tuscan pilasters. The windows have raised surrounds and projecting sills, with the street frontage showcasing two 16-pane sash windows. On the right side, there is a central, partly-glazed four-panel door with a patterned four-pane overlight set in a Tuscan doorcase, along with a single 16-pane sash window to the right. The eaves gutter was originally supported by paired, square stone brackets, and the low-pitched hipped roof features two corniced ridge stacks.
