Description
Hen-dafaron is a building that has been completely rendered and painted, likely over rubble stone, and features a Welsh slate roof. It has a single depth central entry plan with an additional bay on the right and a continuous outshut at the rear. The building is two storeys tall with an attic and has three windows. The two part-glazed doors and the windows, which are 3 over 3 pane sashes, are all late 20th century additions. There is a plaque under the eaves inscribed with "1760 PEE." The roof is fairly steeply pitched and includes a gabled dormer with 2 + 2 pane casements, as well as a stack located at the junction with the adjoining house and on the ridge to the right.
The rear elevation features a long catslide roof that extends low over the single storey outshut. There are modern elements, including two rooflights and a conservatory that was added in the late 20th century.
Inside, the building has been altered in the late 20th century after it was converted from a public house back to domestic use. The attic reveals principal rafter trusses that are halved and pegged at the apex, along with through purlins.
