Description

This is a late 19th-century stable range and clock house situated at Tal-y-coed Court. The building is constructed of brick with ashlar stone dressings, topped with a hipped slate roof featuring lead flashing and brick end stacks.

The east front is the most prominent, dominated by a large central pedimental gable. This gable rises above the eaves and is finished with moulded stone coping and kneelers. At the gable's apex is a small timber bellcote, supported by four thin wooden posts beneath a gabled canopy and weathervane. A circular clock face is set within an oculus at the gable head, framed by radial brick voussoirs and a stone dripmould. Below the clock face, a broad coach entry leads to the stable yard, framed by a segmental brick arch and keystone. The ground floor has two window openings on either side of the arch. These segmental brick arches have stone dripmoulds and fluted keystones, with stone sills and ogee aprons. The ground floor windows have 12 panes, though the left window has been replaced with 20th-century double-glazed doors. The first floor has smaller 20th-century wooden windows: two to the left and a 6x6x6 pane casement to the right.

To the right of the stable block is a short section of wall, approximately 3 metres high. This wall features an entrance doorway with an arched head matching the main building, and a boarded door. To the right of the doorway, the garden wall turns at a right angle to connect with the main house within the wider estate.
