Description

This is a large Georgian townhouse, originally designed as a shop, and now divided into two shops with living accommodation above. The walls are roughcast rendered, topped by a heavy, detailed cornice and a slate roof. The building is three storeys high, with a basement. The front has a four-window arrangement of 12-pane sash windows, with exposed frames, although the first-floor windows of number 4 have been replaced. The ground floor features two shopfronts; number 5 retains a bracketed cornice above the fascia. The rear elevation, despite some remodelling, still shows two original sash windows on the ground floor, set beneath stone segmental arches. Four newer sash windows are located above, and steps lead down to the basement.
