Description
The Old Mill is a disused corn mill with an L-shaped plan. The building features straight joints and black mortar that indicate extensions to the original east-west range. It is constructed of rubble, partly limewashed, and has a stone tile roof. The central L-shaped unit is two stories high and has adjacent ground floor doorways, one with a cambered head and the other round-arched, both featuring openings at the gable apex.
To the left and right of the central unit are lower wings that have wide basket-arched openings for storage and carts, with two openings on each side, plus an additional round-arched doorway on the right end. The ridge of the left wing blocks an opening in the central range, and there are three full-height buttresses supporting the rear wall, while the gable end has a triangular ventilator. The right wing includes three ventilation slits in its gable end.
At the rear of the main range, there are remains of the metal hub for the mill wheel and gears attached to the structure, with a metal support and an opening nearby. The left wing has a new roof structure, with half-height walls separating the bays, and two further openings visible on the gable end of the main range. The floors are cobbled.
