Former Llanbradach Colliery engineering shops

The former Llanbradach Colliery engineering shops consist of three parallel gabled sections oriented north to south. The building is made of rubble stone with rock-faced dressings and features corrugated iron roofs. The southern end, which faces the yard and the former shafts, has three symmetrical gables with centrally placed round-headed doorways flanked by tall round-headed windows. All the windows are blocked, although some have new windows inserted into the blockings, and there are round ventilators above, retaining some original louvres. The side walls have six bays with round-headed windows. On the east side, the windows are partly blocked but still feature iron-frame radial glazing, while on the west side, they are fully blocked. A passage on the west side is spanned by girders attached to the upper revetment wall. The rear elevation has three round-headed windows in each range.

Inside, traces of the narrow-gauge railway can still be seen in the floor of the west range. The internal divisions between the ranges are formed by rubble-stone partition walls. The roofs are supported by wrought iron trusses similar to those found in the engine hall.
