Description

The former Ivor Works is an industrial building constructed of red brick with slate eaves roofs, dating from the 19th century. The structure consists of two sections, both two stories high; the eastern range is taller with five bays, while the western range has six bays. The bays are divided into sunk panels by raised piers, with the eastern range featuring panels on each floor and the western range having full-height panels. The top of each panel displays stepped brickwork, and there is a raised plinth that projects forward over the piers.

The eastern range includes five blocked arched openings on the first floor with yellow brick arches, and three longer openings on the ground floor in bays one, four, and five, which have boarded lower halves under concrete lintels. Bays two and three contain various infills. The right end wall has full-height panels and three panels at the gable, with the center panel featuring a blocked roundel. Attached to the center and left bays is a flat-roofed building with two similar arched openings on its two-bay end wall, along with blind arches over long openings that have concrete lintels. The rear of the eastern range has five square-headed windows with concrete lintels on the upper floor, and tall blocked arches in bays one, two, and four, which have boarded openings under concrete lintels on the lower halves. There are also doors with flat heads in bays three and five, with small blocked openings above.

The lower western range features square upper windows with metal small-pane glazing and longer boarded windows on the ground floor, except for a small window in the second bay. The end wall has tall blocked arched openings in the outer bays, with boarded openings in the lower halves under concrete lintels, and the center bay contains a narrow door. The three-panel gable has a metal roundel. The rear of this range has similar windows above and concrete lintels below, with the left bay featuring a broad door. The building is not available for inspection.
