Description
14 New Castle Street is a mid-19th century two-storey corner house that features higher eaves than the adjoining terraced houses on the left. The front has three bays covered in pebbledash, with pilasters and a bargeboarded cross-gable at the center. There is a band course and a plinth. The first floor has sash windows without glazing bars, while the ground floor on the left has a three-light sash window with glazing bars and horns. The doorway is recessed and has a rectangular traceried fanlight above a panelled door.
The gabled side elevation to the right includes a flat-arched doorway flanked by pilasters and topped with a cornice on consoles, leading to a four-panel door with a plain rectangular fanlight. There are sash windows on the right side and an arched staircase window. The lower rear range features sashes with glazing bars, including one triplet on the ground floor.
