Description
The Market Shopping Centre is a single-storey building with a long frontage divided into four bays, three bays, and then four bays, which steps forward and up towards the center. It is constructed from coursed rubble with granite impost bands and features hipped slate roofs at both ends. The shop windows are slightly recessed, and the stall risers have undergone some alterations. There is a blocked semi-circular headed former doorway located between the two shops on the left side. The central three bays are elevated and include semi-circular headed openings with voussoirs and small pane lunettes; these openings were likely originally full height but are now only open to the central entrance. The building also has modern shop windows and canopies. On the right end facing Duke Street, there is one shop window and one semi-circular headed doorway, which are separated by a full height narrow recess.
