Description
Bethel Calvinistic Methodist Chapel is a small chapel featuring a side wall facade and a lower extension for Sunday School. It is constructed of scored rendered stone and has a concrete tile roof. The facade includes three tall round-headed windows with multipane glazing and tooled sills, along with a plaque above. To the right, there is a round-headed doorway with double boarded doors and a semi-circular fanlight. The lower extension, which is not scored, has two 4-pane sash windows and a boarded door with an overlight, as well as a gable end brick stack. The side elevation displays an unrendered rubble plinth, while the rear elevation features two round-headed windows.
Inside, there is a boarded access passage through the vestry/Sunday School wing, with 4-panelled doors. The chapel's interior is very plain and lacks a gallery. It is fully pewed, although the pew doors have been removed. The plastered ceiling includes a central rose, two ventilators, and a cornice, along with scored render and a dado rail. The simple pulpit has a backboard and narrow rails. A side entrance, which is not in use, opens directly into the chapel, and there is a fireplace at the rear.
