Description
Laurel Cottage is a two-storey building with cement rendered cladding and thick stone walls, topped by a slate gabled roof featuring a small brick stack at each end and one stack to the left of center. The main southeast elevation includes a 19th-century colourwashed porch with a slate gabled roof and bargeboard, which was formerly part of No. 2 Laurel Cottages. This elevation also has late 20th-century features, including three transomed casements and a small window on the ground floor, along with six 6 + 6 pane casements on the upper floor. The northwest elevation has a porch towards the northeast end that used to belong to No. 1 Laurel Cottages and also features modern 6 + 6 small paned casements. To the northeast of the main building, there is a 19th-century outbuilding that has been incorporated into the house.
The interior was not inspected during the resurvey, but a previous description noted a large chimney-breast at the northeast end and a stone chamfered doorway with a pointed head in the style of the 16th century.
