Description
The Baltimore Hotel is a Grade II listed building featuring a classical Bath stone front. It is two stories high with a seven-bay front that includes distinctive balustraded aprons on the first floor and pierced lettering on the parapet. The building has a slate roof and a brick chimney stack. The cornice is adorned with paired end brackets over raised quoins.
The first-floor architraves include panels above the lintels, while the aprons feature bulbous balusters and panelled piers with foliated caps between each bay. A later casement window has been added to the center. The ground floor is characterized by pilasters with egg and dart capitals, a stepped frieze, and a cornice, along with wreath ornamentation on the central bays. The tall windows have high transoms and rounded shoulders, with unusual pendant-like festoons above them, as well as over the double door entrances at either end. A plinth band completes the design.
