Description
Cog House is a farmhouse constructed of stone, roughcast rendered, with a slate roof and wide boarded eaves. It has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high. The long frontage features a three-window range with a projecting single bay wing to the right. Most of the glazing consists of replaced small-pane casement windows. There is an off-centre gabled porch, and the gable-ended wing to the right has decorative bargeboards, which are also present on the rear and the three parallel cross ranges. The central entrance is located on the right-hand side and includes a 12-pane sash window. The road frontage displays a three-window range, with altered glazing except for the ground floor sash window to the left of the door. There is a centre-right doorway with a replaced door and an overlight. Adjacent to the farmhouse, there is a range of small white-painted stone farmyard buildings with pantile roofs, facing the main farmyard complex. The interior reportedly retains old boarded stairs and open fireplaces.
