Description
The remains of Cwrt-y-vil Grange, commonly known as Cwrt-y-Vil Castle, consist of the shell of a barn range with an attached room to the west, oriented roughly east-west. This structure has had 20th-century garages and outhouses added, replacing 19th-century stables. The south wall and the southern half of the west wall are missing. The walls are made of random rubble, occasionally coursed, and stand up to 2 meters high, featuring putlog holes. There is a splayed slit window in the east wall and a blocked doorway in the north wall of the west room. The northeast corner of the west room shows the beginnings of corbelling. The length of the range is approximately 24 meters by 7 meters, with a cross wall located about 5 meters from the west end. A modern house is not included in the listing.
