Description

Summerhouse Fort is a structure built from local limestone rubble, designed as an octagonal curtain wall approximately 2 meters high. It features corner towers, at least one of which on the north side appears to have served as a privy. The overall design of the walls and towers is unclear due to damage and heavy ivy coverage, but there are indications of small battlements resembling a cock-and-hen parapet in certain areas. On the east side, there is a small barn-like building integrated into the curtain wall. This building is unroofed and lacks distinctive features aside from a doorway, but it does include a World War II gun-loop located at the north corner.
