Description
Boverton Place, which includes attached bee-boles, is a 17th-century building now in ruins and completely unroofed, though it is no longer overgrown with ivy. It is constructed of local limestone rubble, with most of the dressed stone removed; some of this stone can be found in nearby buildings. The north-west elevation is seven bays wide and features a projecting tower with a square staircase turret, which has single-light windows on the north-east and south-east elevations. The building has three gables, clustered chimney stacks, and a higher gabled tower wing. There were once mullioned window openings, but all the mullions are missing except for one in the stair tower.
The north wall of what were likely ancillary buildings, now demolished, adjoins the north-west corner of the mansion. A wall extends north-east from the north-east corner of the mansion and features stone-arched bee-boles in its south-east elevation, although these were not seen during the resurvey.
Internally, some stone fireplaces and doorways with chamfered arched heads remain, but the interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
