Description

Woodland Hall is a building designed in the Free Arts and Crafts style, featuring a slate roof, pebble dash on the first floor, and a red brick ground floor with bathstone banding and dressings. The main front faces approximately south and has an L-shaped plan. Two gables face the street, with the right one set forward, its eaves sweeping down to the first floor and featuring an overhanging bell housing. Each gable has a large round-arched multi-paned window, with a moulded band above the right window. There is a central small-pane multi-light window set at the eaves.

On the ground floor, there is a central doorway with a shallow porch. To the left of the doorway, there is a group of windows consisting of a larger three-light small-pane window flanked by smaller small-pane windows, all with bathstone surrounds. To the right of the doorway, there is a small three-light window flanked by smaller single-light windows, which are now blocked, all situated between horizontal bathstone bands that continue around the building. The west gable end has no openings and features a cut corner to the left.

At the rear of the main block, on the first floor, there are two gables, with the smaller one to the left; it has a small-pane window to the left and a large semi-circular window to the right. On the ground floor, there are two camber-headed windows and a large window with a concrete lintel. A rear wing, which is at right angles to the main block and designed in the same style, has square-headed windows on the east and west elevations, with glazing that has been altered during its conversion to offices. A single-storey block is located at an angle.

The building was converted to offices around the 1980s, but parts of the original open roof are still visible on the first floor.
