Description

This is a Tudor-Gothic style lodge, dating from the 20th century. It comprises a main range with a gabled front facing the road, and a wing set back at a right angle to the left. The lodge is constructed of coursed, rock-faced Pennant sandstone, with ashlar dressings and banding in Ham stone. The roof is covered in asbestos slate, with a stone stack to the wing. The main elevations feature cusped barge boards with decorative billets. The front of the main range has a three-light mullioned and transomed bay window. Above the window is the Llewellyn coat of arms carved in relief, set within a recessed panel of Ham stone with an ogee head. A timber-framed porch is situated in the right-hand side wall, built on a low wall and containing an oak bench inside. The doorway to the porch has a chamfered surround, and the boarded door is fitted with fake strap hinges. A modern extension lies behind the porch. The wing has a two-light mullioned window in its gable end, and a single-storey projection to the left and behind the wing incorporates detailing similar to the main house.
