Description
Glan Rhyd Railway Viaduct is a triple-arched structure built in 1829. It is constructed from coursed rubble and features segmental arches with tooled voussoirs and prominent keys. The piers are designed with pointed cutwaters that are moulded and stepped. Above the arches, there is a tooled string course and a parapet topped with large stone copings, although part of the eastern side has been replaced with concrete. On the western side, the parapet includes an engraved tablet that reads: 'THIS BRIDGE WAS ERECTED IN THE YEAR 1829 BY MORGAN THOMAS, LALESTON, MASON', with the letters highlighted in black paint.
