Description
The Williams monument, located in the churchyard of Llansantffraid, is a 19th-century chest made of ashlar, painted in yellow, pink, and grey. It features urn-shaped corners and inscription panels on the north and south sides, with the primary inscription located on the south side and blank end panels. Atop the chest is a moulded slab. The base of the monument is supported by iron railings that start at plinth level. These railings are closely set and topped with spear finials, which are larger on the corner stanchions. Uniquely, there is a cross bar across the centre of the tomb, also adorned with a spear finial, likely intended to prevent interference with the grave.
