Description

The Nicholls Arms Public House is a two-storey building that dates back to the 19th century. It features roughcast and whitewashed stone with a slate roof, and has a symmetrical three-bay elevation. The building includes rendered end stacks and an outbuilding that was added after 1875 at the upper west end. The central entrance consists of a framed and boarded timber door with a narrow plain overlight above it. The façade is adorned with twelve-paned sash windows, which do not have horns and are set in black-painted surrounds. A large panel above the front door displays the name of the establishment. At the rear, there is a later 20th-century restaurant extension with a flat roof.

Inside, the interior has been modernised, but some beams that indicate the former cross passage from the front door are still visible. There is also a stone gable fireplace.
