Description

This is a milestone located on the B4242, 100 meters east of the Rock & Fountain Public House. It is made of stone and has a triangular section with a rectangular base and a curved top. The right side features incised painted lettering that reads "IIII Miles to Neath," while the left side states "VIII Miles to Pont vn." for Pontneddfechan. There is a struck-through bench-mark on the base, along with a further damaged inscription that reads "Neath [-]ower." Additionally, a bench-mark on the apex shows a flattened incised square, which likely indicates the correct height above sea level.
