Description

The Patti Pavilion is a rectangular pavilion framed in cast iron and partly fronted with glass, featuring a pointed-arch, boat-shaped roof made of corrugated iron. It has lean-to aisles supported by snecked rubble bases. The seaward side includes vertical glazing bars and square-shaped windows, which now have aluminium framing, while the north side is metal-plated. At the east end, the corners are splayed, showcasing the iron frame with trefoil-decorated spandrels and one fluted column with an octagonal base.

There are single-storey, flat-roofed blocks added to both ends in 1920 when the building was relocated. These additions feature a lattice-pierced parapet, a dentilled cornice, channelled pilasters, and round-arched openings, some of which are blind or blocked, along with small-pane lunette windows. The west front has stepped classical wreaths on the parapet, with a modern, corrugated-clad extension in front. A chimney stack on the north-west corner is adorned with scrolled ornamentation.

The 5-bay east front has a classical centerpiece inscribed "Patti Pavilion 1920," complete with a semicircular pediment and pilasters. Modern glazing flanks a deeply recessed entrance that has panelled doors. Additional entrances are located near the western end on both sides, with a bracketed hood on the south side. At the time of inspection in June 1993, scaffolding was present on the high roof.

Inside, the cast-iron roof is concealed above a modern ceiling but retains panelled piers that support a pointed-arched arcade with quatrefoil-decorated spandrels. There is a cantilevered gallery at the east end and a panelled foyer featuring a lugged architrave leading to a small-pane glazed ticket office.
