Description
The Lewis monument, located in the churchyard to the southeast of St Paulinus Church, is an unusual pier-shaped structure made of pale ashlar. It is topped with a small iron urn finial and stands on a stone base with a plinth. The pier slightly tapers from its own plinth moulding and features an overhanging cornice with small shallow pediments on each face. Each side of the pier has a tapered projecting inscription panel, with the primary inscription located on the east side.
