Description

The tomb of Daniel Gilbert is located in St Michael's Churchyard and is made of grey limestone ashlar. It is designed in a classical style and features quarter pilasters with acanthus or plume caps at each corner. The long sides of the tomb have panels that contain inscriptions framed by horizontal tooling. The oldest inscription commemorates Daniel Gilbert, who died in 1815. The tomb is topped with a flat capstone that has moulded edges.
