Description

The former farmhouse, located about 20 meters north of Ty-Cooke Farmhouse, is built from local sandstone rubble and has a corrugated metal sheet roof. It is a one and a half storey, two cell, single depth house featuring two windows, one of which retains reserved chamfer mullions, while the other has later angled drips. The near-central door has a shaped and decorated head, and there is a small garret window at the left end. The front originally had a late 17th century gabled dormer, as noted by Fox and Raglan, but this was removed before their publication in 1954, along with the possible removal of the stone slate roof. A stone ridge stack, which was once at the gable end, is still present. The rear elevation was not examined during the resurvey, but it is reported to have two 2-light windows with wooden diamond mullions, which were recorded by Fox and Raglan, though it is unclear if they remain. They also noted a gable window in the right-hand gable, but this is obscured by an in-line extension of the building.

The interior was not inspected during the resurvey, but it is said to have stopped and chamfered principal beams and a stone spiral stair next to the wide gable fireplace. A notable feature is the continuous timber lintel above the door and both front windows. Fox and Raglan recorded that the interior once included a large room and two smaller rooms, but the stud-and-panel partitions have since been removed. They also mentioned a sleeping loft and an upper cruck roof, although it is uncertain how much of this remains.
