Description

Bridge No. 71 is an accommodation bridge that spans the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. It features a semi-elliptical arch constructed with voussoirs made of squared, faced, and coursed local sandstone. The bridge has a parapet with slab coping and straight abutments that include small terminal piers. The bridge number is displayed on the south face of the arch. A towpath runs beneath the bridge arch on the east side. At the west end of the bridge, there is a sign from the London and North Western Railway stating "No locomotives."
