Description
This building is a long single-storey range constructed from snecked masonry with stone dressings, topped by a slate roof. It features a red brick ridge stack and a second stack on the rear roof pitch. At the east end of the south elevation, there is a supervisor's office with a projecting bay window that has four 8-pane sash returns beneath a rendered gable. This window allows the supervisor to have a full view of the mills opposite, the cart shed, and the entrance to the yard. The office is still in use today. The entrance to the office is located to the right of the bay window, beneath a stone lintel, and features a recessed panelled door. Further to the right, towards the end of the range, there is a large 20th-century window that replaces earlier double doors. To the left of the cross gable, the door and window openings are irregularly spaced and extend to the eaves level. There are four doorways, including three pairs of double doors, all of which are planked, painted blue, and some are partially lit. The windows throughout the building are multi-pane casements, and there are three skylights towards the left end. The west gable end includes a door and an oculus in the gable, while the east gable end features a large 20th-century window. The rear of the building has four windows of varying sizes and spacing.
The main entrance is recessed and leads into a short passage. To the left, there is the room with the advanced gable, which is still used as an office.
