Description

Nos 103 and 103a The Struet is a two-storey building with a four-window street front, featuring a rendered finish and stepped quoins at the ends. It has a slate roof and stone chimney stacks, with one stack on the right adjoining No. 102 and another rendered stack on the left end. On the first floor, there are four 4-pane sash windows with a continuous cornice at the sill level, and a blank space in the center. The ground floor has a central round-headed and rusticated arch, which is topped by a swan-neck-pedimented panel inscribed with "The Griffin." There is an early 20th-century shop front on each side of the central arch, each featuring a central recessed door flanked by shop windows, all set in a surround with end pilasters and a deep fascia board.
