Description

Somerfield is an 18th-century house that has been converted into a supermarket. The building features a roughcast exterior and a slate roof. The elevation facing The Struet has two storeys and a basement, with five bays. The central three bays project forward and are topped with a pediment, which is flanked by a semi-circular panel over each end bay. The windows are twelve-pane sash types with moulded architraves. The entrance includes a 19th-century round-headed and pedimented doorcase with pilasters, fluted consoles, a plain semi-circular fanlight, and a two-panelled door. At the rear, the front block connects to a parallel stone block that has a gable facing the relief road.
