Description
Nos. 98 and 99 The Struet are a pair of shops with living accommodation above, dating from the 19th century. The street front is three storeys high and features five windows, with a cement-rendered finish and a slate roof. The three windows of No. 98 are set more closely together than the two windows of No. 99. The upper floors have 4-pane sash windows with plain reveals. Between the top and first floors, there is a fascia board inscribed with "Viaduct House."
On the ground floor, the continuous shopfronts are defined by pilasters and long fascias with cornices above. The shopfront of No. 99 includes a 4-light window situated between two doorways; to the right is a ledged door, and to the left is a half-glazed panelled door, both featuring rectangular fanlights. The rear elevations are constructed of stone rubble with brick dressings.
