Description
Dugoedydd Fawr is a farmhouse constructed from rubble stone, featuring a slate roof and rendered end stacks, along with a large stack at the angle of the rear wing. The building is two stories high with a three-window front, showcasing large 16-pane sash windows with stone sills and stone voussoir heads. The right window on the ground floor has been replaced with plastic. The central entrance consists of a wide panelled door, similar to that at Nantddu, topped by a traceried overlight, all within a brick-and-timber gabled porch. The south end wall is roughcast and includes a 6-pane window on the first floor and a 20th-century window on the ground floor to the left. The southeast rear wing is also roughcast, featuring two 6-pane windows above, and one 16-pane and one tilting 12-pane window below, along with a central door.
While not accessible during the resurvey, it is reported that the main staircase winds around a small room that has a small horizontal sliding sash window leading to the hallway, possibly used as an office for collecting rents. Additionally, there is a narrow timber service stair in the rear wing, which has an oak bresummer over a large inglenook fireplace.
