Description
Golden Grove Terrace features a retaining wall and parapet that create a raised terrace on the sloping ground to the north of the house. The retaining wall is constructed from rock-faced limestone, sloping at about a 70-degree angle, with some sections featuring graded courses. At the base of the parapet, there is a large bullnosed string course, and the parapet itself is made from similar limestone masonry as the house.
The terrace includes walks and parterres, with a change of level at the north-west corner of the house that includes three steps and a corresponding step in the parapet. A central staircase on the north side has monolith gatepiers and six steps leading down to the grounds, featuring rounded kerbs. At the top of this flight is a pair of Gothic cast-iron gates. There is another staircase at the centre of the west side with five steps.
In the middle of the terrace, there is an ornamental pond with a rounded everted kerb.
