Description
Pengwern Uchaf is a large farmhouse built of colourwashed rubble stone, topped with a slate roof and featuring late 19th-century brick end stacks. The building stands two storeys high and consists of five bays with irregular spacing. The first bay contains a 16-pane hornless sash window on each floor. The second bay features a late 19th-century gabled timber porch with a door and overlight. The third bay has a 12-pane sash window below, with a cambered windowhead, and a 16-pane hornless sash window above. The fourth bay includes a 16-pane hornless sash window below and a 4-pane sash window above, which was likely originally a 16-pane window. The end bay has a small late 19th-century 4-pane sash window in the fire-window position, along with a date plaque reading 'RM 1756' in the upper angle. The windows are fitted with painted slate sills, with upper windowheads located under the eaves and lower windowheads rendered. The rear roof features an outshut with renewed eaves boards. The south end wall has a cambered-headed door and three 4-pane sash windows.
