Description
The gates at the former northeast entrance to Y Garreg Filltir are made of wrought iron and date from the 20th century. They consist of two wide gates featuring square uprights that rise alternately above the middle and top rails. The heavy top rail is curved down to the hanging stile on each gate. Notably, the gates have unusual wrought iron openwork finials, including diamond finials above the middle rails and a design of alternating diamonds and hearts along the top rail, complemented by wrought iron scrolls. The stone piers that support the gates were likely rebuilt in the late 20th century.
