Description
The churchyard gates, piers, and railings at the Church of Saint Teilo date from the 19th century and feature ornate cast-iron gates with a Gothic design of scrolls and circles, marked by Baker & Co Newport Mon on the latch. These gates are positioned between two large sandstone piers topped with two-step pyramidal caps. On either side of the gates, there are low iron railings attached to rubble stone walls or embankments. The railings include a pattern of crosses within circles and fleur-de-lys type finials on the stanchions. Six sections of railings extend back to the southwest from the left gate pier, while a longer section runs along the embankment to the eastern edge of the churchyard, featuring tooled limestone coping, and returns with a short length at the northeast corner.
